Understanding our Mihi and how it connects with our Whakapapa
Ruma Tahi at Karoro School, part of the Toki Pounamu cluster, have created their visual mihi to share both on their learning sites and their class blog. The success criteria was 'We can show that we understand the purpose of mihi and how it connects to our whakapapa/family tree. We have developed our sense of self and place. We have built on our pronunciation skills.' Take time to check out the students mihi, also note that Bev Kemp has role modelled the process of Learn, Create, Share as a teacher following the same process as her learners. A great example of starting with the 'big people' as described by Dorothy Burt in her blogpost.
